About byBiehl

byBiehl is a Danish jewelry company, founded in 2010 by Charlotte Biehl. Charlotte searched in vain for sophisticated, feminine, good-quality jewelry that was affordable. That’s the reason why she decided to start her own jewelry company, byBiehl.

byBiehl makes sophisticated, feminine, timeless, and personal jewelry of good quality and affordable. But that’s not all, byBiehl’s jewelry is also sustainable. We are very happy to have started our green journey, where, all our jewelry is produced in 100% recycled gold and silver.

You can buy our jewelry on byBiehl.com, in our flagship stores, and in more than 300 jewelry stores around Europe. You find all our dealers here.

We hope that you want to take a look at our jewelry.

Our Green Journey

2019
In 2019, we took the first step into our green journey and started the sustainable initiative “byBiehl gives back to nature”. For every sold jewelry sold in the Jungle Ivy collection we plant a “CO2-hungry” tree in Madagascar.

2020
In 2020, we launched our first collection in 100% recycled gold and silver. Since then, all our jewelry is made from 100% recycled gold and silver.

2021
We are proud that in 2021 we reached a big green goal and planted 60,000 Mangrove trees in collaboration with our Eden Projects. We have removed a lot of plastic from our packaging and it is now stored in biodegradable plastic bags instead.

2022
For every sold piece from the Ocean Flow collection, we collect 1 kg of waste from the ocean. byBiehl support the organization Plastics for Change, which collects plastic from the world’s oceans.

How we recycle our jewelry

Charlotte Biehl’s sources of inspiration for her jewelry design is found in the nature, personal stories and feminine lines. Charlotte herself says: “I love designing jewelry that means something to the woman who wears it and that makes her feel beautiful and feminine.”

Why sustainable jewelry is important

The jewelry industry has already mined a lot of gold and silver. It is time for us to become more conscious of natural resources. To do that we can remelt gold and silver and turn them into new, beautiful jewelry.

The mining industry is very polluting. Extracting enough gold for a finger ring requires around 20 tons of rock. To blast the rock into pieces and extract the gold, you need to use chemicals like arsenic and cyanide. On top of that, the mining industry is known for its poor working conditions. The result? Extensive pollution and destruction of nature with negative consequences on humans and wildlife!

We made it our mission to create jewelry from recycled materials. It is a process that requires a lot to ensure the authenticity of materials. Therefore it is our great pleasure to announce that since 2020 all our jewelry has been made from 100% recycled gold and silver.
